Robin Shay, Director
An academic scholarship and Robin's passion for viticulture led him to Portugal, where he studied at the Universidade Lusiada and had the privilege of working alongside esteemed winemaker Jerry Luper in the Douro Valley. There, he gained invaluable experience working in both the vineyards and the cellars as an assistant to the winemaker.
Eager to expand his expertise, Robin pivoted to Italy, where he presented a thesis in Marketing and Channel Strategies for Small Wineries at the Università degli Studi di Padova. His continuous pursuit of knowledge led him to become a certified Sommelier in 2004, accredited by the A.I.S.
Building on passion and expertise, upon graduation he immersed himself in the storied winemaking traditions of Campania. During his tenure at Feudi di San Gregorio, he refined his skills and deepened his understanding of the industry, while managing Asian markets and the Americas.
Robin transitioned into the role of Export Manager at the Allegrini Estates in 2009. Alongside growing sales and distribution for the Allegrini brand, he launched two new estates for the group, Poggio al Tesoro and San Polo. He continues to play a pivotal role in driving international growth and fostering strategic partnerships throughout the western hemisphere.
